On Paper

I cannot see you

In the flesh

For I know you

On paper,

You know me

On paper,

That is where

It makes sense,

That is where

I make sense;

Let’s not hear

Ourselves out loud.

Not yet.

  1. This is nice. And true. How many of us bloggers only know each other by… virtual paper? It is a way of acquaintance comparable with correspondence, only faster, easier and more wide spread. Is it therefore shallower? Not per se. I know of people genuinely grieving because of the death of someone they have never actually met. The world is getting bigger and smaller at the same time. (This comment is probably not about what your poem means, but what it could have meant. ๐Ÿ™‚ )
