The calendar has holes
Where the months
Are supposed to be,
And it feels like one
Big day ever since
This year began,
Or maybe the last year
Never came to an end.
Daylight and darkness fight
For the negative space,
And there seems to be
No other choice
But to calmly embrace
The sensory overload.
A moth is no match
For the hurricane,
But there are some voids
That you cannot
Avoid falling into.

I get this. So much in this piece is relatable. It truly does feel like the months just bleed into one long, exhausting day sometimes. The part at the end about falling into some voids being inevitable…so true. You have your fingers on the pulse of humanity in a unique way, Aaysid, and your ability to express your thoughts so eloquently is amazing. So glad to see a new post from you! Awesome as always. 🙂
