Poem It Out

The poems spill out

When everything else

Is being held in

Against our will,

Our words leap

Into action when we

Are too tired to think,

To seek solace in rhyme,

To find freedom in ink.

“A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness.”
Robert Frost

I am thankful to Spillwords Press for publishing my poem, A Bonfire. I shall be really grateful if you could spare some time to go check it out there.

  2. I so love this piece, Aaysid. It’s beautifully expressed. I can totally identify with every word. So often, it’s when I’m snowed under with other tasks and feeling exhausted that a poem (or at least the beginnings of one) will pop into my head. I hope you are well today. Xx 🌼💕

  3. I can so identify with this poem. If it weren’t for my melancholy poetry, I don’t know how I’d deal with things sometimes. Thank goodness for poetry, and thank goodness for your exquisite poetic craftsmanship, Aaysid. You’re always a joy to read. And congratulations on the publishing of “A Bonfire” at Spillwords! I’m going to check it out now. 🙂
