Resilience

I laugh hysterically

At my own madness,

At the audacity

Of a flimsy thought

That had risen

Like a phoenix

From the ashes

Of my archaic ideas

That had caught fire

Without provocation

Many moons ago,

To throw the outside

World into disarray—

It is utterly ridiculous

To be governed by

Your weakest thought

And to make

More sense than before!

  1. Wonderful poem, Aaysid. I love the lines that read:

    It is utterly ridiculous

    To be governed by

    Your weakest thought

    And to make

    More sense than before!

The Sigmund Freud quote is brilliant, too – “Where does a thought go when it’s forgotten?” Truly food for thought.

I really like your image at the top of this piece, Aaysid. Where did you find it, or did you paint it? Xx 🌼💕😘

      1. Thank you for letting me know about the picture. I use Pexels and Unsplash for my images. I’ve never thought to look for abstract pictures. It’s amazing what you find on these image websites. Xx 🤗
