Dissociation

I reconnect sometimes

to the reality,

and it feels like a lifetime

before I disconnect;

there are no wires,

but the signal distortion

never lasts long,

and I wonder how long

can I live like that

before the two timelines

merge into one,

and I forget

what it was like

not to belong?
